I am considering trying to convert my manual 24:1 box to 20:1. Summit shows it for sale for $300. Anyone try this. This would be my first attempt. The 16:1 might be too much effort for me.

I have one, although I actually haven't used it yet. The 20:1 ratio makes the steering box about 4 1/2 turns lock to lock. Stock is about 5 1/2 turns, 16:1 is close to 3 1/2. I think its a good compromise between the stock box and the 16:1, on an A body the effort shouldn't be too bad at all. I bought mine for my E body, didn't want to make the heavier car too much effort to steer, especially with my 275/40/17's on the front.

Thanks. Did you build it? Trying to find out how easy/hard it is to build.
