Would be interesting if someone had an old VAT 40 Sun tester and see what the starter is drawing hot and cold. Something doesn't make sense here. I have 22 initial and all in 2,500 or so, starts easy hot or cold. No special wiring, stock replacement M&H.

Yep... years back I was backing off my timing thinking it was too much on hot starts only to find my starter was going south.

I have had different battery's, 3 different starters and I just put in the last one a week ago. This one is a Power Master XS 9533. Replaced starter relay checked grounds last week I made a Positive cable in 2/0 gauge and today I made a Negative in 1/0 size but haven't tested after making the neg. cable. My car is a well maintained always cared for piece so this isn't typical but has plagued me for a couple of years. Had the biggest group 27 Auto Zone to a group 24 to a restoration battery no different. I hadn't made it a priority since the car isn't a daily driver but I'll get it sorted out eventually.

Ok update to my cranking:
After making the 1/0 negative cable so far it seems to have worked. I've only had the car out a couple of times but it is passing the warm start testing so far.
