I installed a Mopar performance master cylinder with no booster when I converted my 65 Valiant to front disc brakes. It's been installed for a number of years (it had pedal pressure) but I had never actually taken the car out and driven it more that around the block.
Now I'm ready to drive it, so I bled the brakes, (which are all new, calipers, wheel cylinders, and lines). but couldn't get any pedal, even after bleeding with a vacuum pump.
Then I noticed that when I refilled the rear reservoir with fluid, the from reservoir would over flow. The more I bled the worse the pedal pressure got, until now it goes to the floor.
So, I'm guessing the MC needs a rebuild? Could it be that there are fancy seals inside it that require DOT 4 Fluid?
Also, if it does need a rebuild after zero miles, anyone have a lead on where to get a kit or have it done.
Frustrated and walking!!
