We decided to pull the more door out of the weeds, let it see some action
It wasn't going anywhere, as is > head less, slant

019-1.jpg

Don't want to kill the Granny look to bad> at least put some wheels on it

020.jpg

up first is to pull the dead slant
remove the exhaust

001-2.jpg

out with the nasty fuel tank, will install a fuel cell later

008-3.jpg

next is to install a 4.56 spool and BBP

004-2.jpg

complete rebuild on the front end and brakes was in order

012s.jpg

009-2.jpg

025s.jpg

and a spool mount K frame

005-3.jpg

we decided , can't put a new engine in a dirty engine compartment so, out with all components under the hood

s.jpg

ss.jpg

we put a 360 in for now.

020-3.jpg

well now comes the "Snowball"effect

the car was fun as is

But,Gayle wants to go faster

So, we thought we would put a 340 in> more compression, more cam
need to break it in anyway.

While we still saved for more parts for the stroker

019.jpg

all this engine swapping , the headers got to go
need a different system

I grew up during
"Dare to be Different"

when we get the stroker ready the headers will be different

want easy to swap engines
easy to get to plugs
easy to remove headers (required)

while doing a little "shade tree: work
(grinding clearance for the roller lifters)
I'm also thinking about building some headers

We got to run the stroker 4 passes at the end of 2013, the last week any track was open for the season

We found out we got no traction.
to small of a fuel line also
So, back to the drawing board (snowball effect)

2013>November

start over

these are not working

040.jpg

We completely stripped the car of everything

flipped it over

install frame ties,
moved the springs in,
and moved the rear axle forward.
changed the 8 3/4 for a dana 60 with 1350 drive line

015.jpg

009.jpg

022.jpg

stiffed up the rear frame rails, also tied into the frame connectors, mostly hid by the rear seat

007.jpg

016-1.jpg

039.jpg

for safety
installed a trans shield,
found out you have to raise the floor
in order for it to fit

so, while the dash was out,it was the best time to mod the floor

001-2.jpg

to save weight, we put a fiberglass dash in

016-1-2.jpg

Also gutted the doors except the drivers side , left the window regulator/handle in.

Did put new light weight carpet in
has a head liner
To keep the stock appearing interior

022.jpg

017.jpg

a few months ago
we installed the eng/trans

010-2.jpg

fiberglass bumpers/valances on the rear and front with a hood

to late for paint/body work, will have to wait til spring

004-2.jpg

013.jpg

Now we are ready to let the horses out to play
as soon as the front seat returns from the upholstery shop
also waiting on the Tubular A arms with heims joints to show up

forgot to mention
449 c. i. on E-85
4500 convertor
4.10/ ET pro's

Those headers really are outside the box! Bet she's loud:burnout:

Not bad

same eng/headers
last year
video is 1st time out, heading to the track
Gayle is moving it to the back of the trailer- to load

[ame]http://vid267.photobucket.com/albums/ii313/draginmopars/white%20dart/017.mp4[/ame]

this video is removing the headers> with one hand--- LOL
this was the first design
I made a better set for this year> more compact
they are 1 3/4 into 1 7/8 with a 3 1/2 collector

[ame]http://vid267.photobucket.com/albums/ii313/draginmopars/white%20dart/003-3.mp4[/ame]

I'd like to find someone close
to see if they would fit an early "A" body

This video is
The latest eng

[ame]http://vid267.photobucket.com/albums/ii313/draginmopars/white%20dart/SAM_0115.mp4[/ame]

Getting closer to making a few passes

Checked all the fluids again
gave it a basic look over/check

stole the front seat out of the 72
still haven't got the original seat back from the upholster
so do what we had to do.

Not the right seat, but We want to get some seat time before the tracks close

005-1-2.jpg

Finished wrapping the headers
looks like a pair of mummies along for the ride.

013-1.jpg

looks better with a bath
still need to install the front side marker light

also need to locate both "Spears" > front fender trim

007-1-1.jpg

well,
The Snowball lives, up to its name

More Work to be done.

Had problems at both ends of the track

On take off, it hops, want to play "leap frog"

don't matter what rpm 2500-4000
has a 4500 convertor
feel, we need more front end travel (3")
We didn't change anything (settings) on the front since last year
It's all new parts and, front end alignment
drove great/ straight, just hops when leaving

at the other end
Time for an ignition upgrade
cutting out/ popping
gonna call "Firecore"
get a ignition system

We are happy, at least the car now hooks

[ame]http://vid267.photobucket.com/albums/ii313/draginmopars/white%20dart%202/006.mp4[/ame]

made 5 passes left at 2500 rpm
first was 1.56 60ft
7.25 @ 92.60

next was more rpm> 3000
1.57
7.23 @ 92.98

4000 rpm> hops bad
1.63
7.54 @ 92.40

[ame]http://vid267.photobucket.com/albums/ii313/draginmopars/white%20dart%202/009.mp4[/ame]

4000
1.64
7.37 @ 92.95

3500 rpm
1.73
7.59 @ 91.27

ET pro 275/60-15 @ 19psi
on a 10" wheel

We took the car home, before we break something
glad we put 1350 spicer drive line in it

We also had changed the gear ratio to 4.10 to soften the launch/ tire spin
maybe need to go back to 4.56 ???????

WEEEEEEEEEEEE

We got rid of the top end miss> Thanks "Firecore"

008-3.jpg

001-1-2.jpg

Added a pinion snubber

Looks like we need to look at double adjustable shocks
Still got some hop

off the trailer
6.87
1.523 60 ft
99.6 mph

others (at the track) say
the springs are to stiff ?????
need to do a burn out

We don't heat the tires,
We like to just pull up and run

So, since we had a bye run we heated the tire, But, it slowed to a 6.91
1.514 60 ft
98.6 mph

[ame]http://vid267.photobucket.com/albums/ii313/draginmopars/white%20dart%202/005-1.mp4[/ame]

Sweet more door build. Loving it.

Thanks...:burnout:

got the car back on the lift

to check why it was hopping off the line

first drew a line on the shock for the ride height.

raise the car and removed the lower part of the shock

bottomed out the shock

drew another line

:eek:ops:

No shock travel

005-1-3.jpg

we had raised the upper mount
because we lowered the car

But, I had never checked for travel with the car on the ground...

Looks like time to order shorter shocks...:D

before we put the winter slippers on the car

We found a track open
that was having a food drive for needy family

So we loaded up some can goods and the car

We had added a leaf to the rear and different shocks on the front
trying to calm down the front
and the wheel hop in the rear

Didn't want to wait til Feb. if we made any improvements

it all helped but lost .012 in the sixty foot and 3 mph
now it spins off the line

Had some fun today
Was funny seeing people look>>> Who is that

(We have never had the dodge to this track before)

While waiting in line
they didn't believe the engine was just a 340 LOL

next for the car is
tubular (small joint) a arms we just received

Should make the front end movements a lot smoother
let the shock do the work

jjklll.jpg

Digging your build !!!
What brand control arms are they?

No Name

Since we couldn't find any with the small joint

We had a Suspension parts Manufacturer
make us a set

we took them a section of uni-body
a set of A arms
and the hardware
to build a set from
