hey guys i am trying to put all the pieces of this puzzle together to get this dart running. i have decided to go with a motorplate so i can run my external oiling and oil accumulator.i want to buy the right parts the first time so i figured i would ask u guys.it would be nice to buy one that had the correct offset in it and one that i dont have to take anything off the sides of the plate width wise to fit in the dart.also do i have to run a mid plate i have heard of people not running them. thanks for your help and input. the engine is a 512-400 block. its putting out 630 horse

I bought my car as a roller and it came with the motor plate, 1/2 inch thick which is a bit overkill, most are 3/8ths thick. I added a mid plate just for peace of mind and if you should add the mid plate you need to take into consideration that it will space the torque converter back about 1/8th of an inch so check to see if the converter snout is still into the crankshaft, have to space the converter accordingly also. If you use the front motor plate and will be using the stock water pump it will space that out also so your pulleys will not line up, will have to space them in/out also, mainly the crank pulley and www.440Source.com has those. With that kind of HP the mid plate would help to stiffen the chassis up some.
