I may have mentioned this earlier in another thread but I recalled another member was going from AC/PS to Alt only so I thought I would post this info here.

The 4 groove crank pulley is 4 layers thick and uses a longer bolt. Those longer bolts hits the timing cover. (I discovered this during my swap, before I bolted the single groove crank pulley on I could rotate the engine over by hand, after I barely could budge it with a wrench. I pulled the crank bolts and Free Bird!

I did some measuring and found the clearance behind the crank to the timing cover was tight.

Turns out a 3/4" bolt with the lock washed will clear fine. I started looking for proper (restoration like) bolts and found these from Mancini - AMK Restoration Crankshaft Pulley Bolts Item #: AMKC-8041 and MRE - Crank Pulley Bolt Package Item #: MRE6613

There is a note on 440 Source's site that the crank register is close to the bolt holes and "special" smaller OD lock washers were needed, I did not see any issues with the grade 8 hardware store bolts and split lock washers I bought for test fitting BUT I did not look super close

On Mancini's site they list these MRE for use with the MRE single groove crank pulley

MRE - Crank Pulley Bolt Package Item #: MRE6613
The MRE have blue Locktite on them and a thin flat washer

AMK Restoration Crankshaft Pulley Bolts Item #: AMKC-8041
The AMK have no Locktite and a split lock washer like the OEM bolts I removed
