You have to splice the red signal wire into the ignition 1 and 2 circuits under the dash no matter where you put it. Its not that hard to do. They give you all sorts of wiring accessories with the module, should be pretty straightforward.

I put my 6AL box under the dash where the front speaker used to be. I ditched my radio and used the speaker bracket to mount the box. Had plenty of wire, actually had to coil some of it up. The wires for the coil reach no problem. Everything is concealed under there, no red box on the fender apron.
