I had a buddy give me a MSD 6 AL. I would like to know what to expect from it on a stockish 360?

Performance-wise on a stock 360, zip, nada, zilch.

if you have a good ignition not much, if yours is worn and week you will see a better idle and maybe a tiny improvement in MPG and idle

In my experience it will be easier to start with a bit better MPG, do some reading, gap your plugs a bit wider...

Does it have a rev limiter?? that might be a plus, it fires twice on every plug, so it burns fuel better so I would think you will get better mpg's like the others have said. i have a similar one the Mallory version, mine does have a rev limiter, make sure you have 12 volts at the signal wire for the 6al in BOTH the start and run positions, you will need to use the brown and blue wires from the ballast resister.
