MSD 8388 Ready to run distributor

The instructions say to bypass the ballast resistor(top fig.). So, do I place a jumper across the ballast resistor and leave original wire to the coil connected or can I just use the wire that feeds the ballast(ign.1 swt. side) for the connection to the coil (+) terminal.

you have two ignition wires from the switch. one is hot in the start position and the one connected to the ballast resistor is hot in the run position. connect them both together and connect to the coil + terminal. run the red distributor wire from the dist. to the + terminal also.
