MSD confusion

So in reading some other posts on the msd E-core ready to run distributors the hook-up is to connect blue and brown ballast wires together,and then just pull control box wire plug off? or do you leave it on? will it hurt anything? I tried the HEI stuff and even bought the little mount for bottom of distributor housing but noticed no diff(diagram on line)will try this with E-3 plugs but will probably come back to my re-curved stock distributor and chrome box.
 
E3 spark plugs are gimmicky overpriced toys from China. What "diff" were you looking for and not finding with the HEI setup, that you're hoping you'll find with an MSD setup?
 
To be honest I didn't notice any gains with the HEI set up,hoping to notice a small improvement with the E-3's indexed,also I like the built in rev limiter of the MSD.

how the hell do you index an e 3 plug??????????????????
