My dad just hooked me up with a MSD6A for the slant. Before I spend the time setting this up, what can I expect from this unit? Is it worth the effort?What other parts do I need (is this the gift that keeps on giving?????) Will I need a new coil and eletronic dist?

It would probably work best with a MSD coil but doesn't need one, and could work with pretty much any distributor ever made for a slant six. OTOH, I'm not sure it would make a significant difference unless you've gone from the picture in your sig to a turbo setup or something equally crazy.
