I am building a 1972 Demon. I have a dana 60 for it, stock width with disc brakes, leaf springs in stock location and staying there, mopar XHD springs and caltracs.

Will the 275/60/15 MT ET radial fit on the car or am I going to have to get the 235/60/15?

This is my first A body to build, I normally do B body mopars.

Looking at weld prostars 15x4 on the front and I think a 15x8 on the back.

Just looking for som insight on the MT tires and what works on the Demons.

Have a A and A transmission for it with a 3800 converter, 4.10's in the dana and a crossrammed 426 hemi for power, TTI headers and 3 inch exhaust.

well, its going to depend on the backspace of your rim. i used to have a set of 275/60/15s on a pair of 15x10 centerlines with a 3 1/2 backspace that stuck out, but i still had an 1 1/2 on the inside. the wheelwell is plenty big enough. i even used a 255/70/15 which is an even taller tire with room

I had a set of the 275/60 MT's on my '67 Valiant. I had the Mopar Performance 3/4" offset spring relocation kit which allowed me to run this tire on an 8" Wheel Vintiques rally wheel with a 3 5/8" backspacing. The tire will just clear the leaf spring and be inside the wheel well with this set up. If your leaf springs are in the stock location, the tires will hit the leaf springs with the 3 5/8" backspacing, forcing you to use a wheel with about 3 1/4" backspacing max. I would definetely relocate my leaf springs with either Mopar spring relocation kit, the one mentioned above or the other kit which moves the springs inboard 3".

275/60/15 will fit if you pay careful attention to the back spacing and/or offset, The tire will be real close to the front of the fender as it's a 28" tall tire. The next smaller size is 255/60/15 I like this 27" tall size to because it's a little shorter but still fills up the fenders good. Base on my A body experience I would think a 3.75" to 4" backspacing with a 8" wheel would work on your stock suspension Demon but you should always measure, and make sure you do both sides as there is a difference up to 1/2" in some cases.

8" wheel is a good choice

And don't forget that ride height and such affect the ability, too. A lower rear will let the body contact the tire more easily than a higher rear, and even if it all fits while sitting still, hitting bumps or hard cornering can cause the tires to hit. There is more to fitment than width alone.

So I would probably be better with the 255/60/15
