Musings on 90 degree oil filter adapter bolt

So, I've noticed there seem to be two kinds of bolts used on the 90 degree adapters
The most common one has round holes, while the other one has elongated holes
I would imagine the elongated holes are much less restrictive, but it looks like they were mainly/only used on the 273s

Anyone else notice this?

looks like it came from a 273 engine

now, i can imagine this flows better, but might be a little less strong ?
