I had posted a thread over in the welcome wagon section but as I am progressing on the car I figured that I should post the progress in the correct section. Some of the pics are repost from the other thread. Any way here is my 1971 Duster that has been in storage for the last 5 years. I have finally pulled her out of storage and starting to put her back in racing trim.

Here is a shot of the body work started:

Well I finally had a chance to get some work done on the car. Here is the engine compartment painted:

Here is the engine with the valve covers off. I had to change the push rods to run no2.

Engine with both types of valve covers on it. I will be using the DC ones.

Hey Jeff. I was wondering if you had any spare parts for sale? I just bought a 73 duster that I want to drop a 408 into. thanks

I finally had some free time last night, so I got the engine set in the car:

Now if I can find the time this week to get everything hooked up and fire this beast off!

Yup, race trim, definitely no extras on that car. Lol! Welcome to the site, it`s good to see you get that Duster out of mothballs and with a brand new powerplant. Nice!

Well we finally took the our project "410" Duster to the drag stip this weekend. Some of you followed along in the build up I posted here. We made a couple of shake down runs to see where we were at since I haven't driven this car in about 7 years.
Bottom line is we still have some more work to do. The best time we had was 9.86 at 64 mph with a .056 reaction time. Tire spin was off the chart and every time I shifted in to second gear the car snapped sideways and I was forced to lift. On the second pass I blew out the front intake gasket. Small oil leak but enough to call it a day.
