I had been having small troubles with the motor shutting off at idle at the most in-opertune times.
Sometimes just manuvering to park was all it took.
If it was hot outside, forget it, it wouldn't start. Crank and crank and then flood the motor or wear down the batterey!
If it was cold out, even worse!
It finally DIED in front of my house! Thank God!
It took me a while, but I found the problem to be two (2) Burnt Up elect conns.
From the looks of it, I say it happened over quite a bit of time, which is why it kept getting worse.
I found a much better conn in the local pull a part for a buck and a half and it looks brand new.
I spliced it in...my truck runs like new! (almost, it is 37 yrs old.)
All blinkers now flash fast, gauges seem to be more stable.
I would reccommend all with old cars look at all the conns even in the hard to reach places as it will really pay off it you find something such as I did!
Mike
ps, I just had the seat redone, makes the truck look decent.
