You were a sick puppy in the 80's, eh? :poke:

...but I do love 59 caddies of all configurations.

I love the 59 & 60 Caddys as well as the 59 & 60 Buicks.

Theres a hearse club called Phantom Coaches,I believe someone there has replica of the Ecto-1.

Was'nt the Cadillac used for the Ecto-1 originally an Ambulance or was it a hearse?

The vehicle used for the Ecto-1 was a 1959 Cadillac professional chassis, built by the Miller-Meteor company. The ambulance/hearse combination was the end loader variety.

I think that movie was made at a time when a lot of 50s and early 60s cars were still roaming the streets and generally available.

the odds of finding one now that is reasonably priced..........yea...not going to happen.

but it does show your a wagon fan which I can relate brother ....every time I think of selling or trading off my wagon ....I see a wagon somewhere and it makes me want to hold on to it. :D

Code Blue, Bad Thread Alert! neener neeener neeeener! to the rescue.

well as a person who has owned many hearse's I can tell you a rusty S*#$@T box of a 1959 Caddy hearse will run you $15,000 plus ..I had an Ecto 1 car and I sold it for almost $26,000 10 years ago ..the pics are of my Ecto 1 after it got painted and some ramdom hearse's I owned:glasses7:

Not to mention how y'gonna find a hearse caddy?

They find you. I had 2 of them, a '47 Caddy and a '60 Caddy. Sold the '60 to someone in CO and a friend got as much to deliver it as we got for it.

The '47 was a major project car that I thought I would never find a buyer for. Finally sold it, a '47 Ford coupe, and a '47 Ford 4 door all for $1200. Lost my butt and all the fixtures on that deal. :banghead:

Love your Ecto-1 "dartdude335"! What condition was your '59 in when you found it? Was there ever such a thing as a '59 Buick hearse or ambulance? I've seen Pontiacs before.

Speaking of movie cars, one I'd love to do is a 1974 Dodge Monaco "BluesMobile". Has anyone here built a replica of Jake and Elwoods ride?

My '59 was in ok shape when I bought it ..I got in 1998 from a junk yard in Great Bend Kansas for $500 ...'59 Buick hearse and Ambulances are RARE!!! here are a coupl of pics of some '59 Buuick hearse and ambulances taken in the early '60's The Buicks where made by a company called Flxible they also made buses
