As with an earlier post.. I found these today going through old family photos and thought I would share....
Here is the story...
In late 1965 I bought a Dealer Demo. It was a 1965 Dart 270 4 Door Sedan. I bought it because it was equipped with the Charger 273 4bbl engine.
It was a quick fun car and a sleeper for street encounters with Mustangs. Won a lot of out in the country races with it.
BUT, it lacked appeal with the girls... I was 18 at the time.
One day I was in the dealer ship for service.
Went into the showroom while waiting and this car was on display. Complete with 13" Cragar SS wheels.
Just what I needed for a chick magnet. So I worked out a deal with my friendly salesman.
I had to for go the Extra Cost Cragars. They installed stock 13" wheels and covers from another GT.
I left with the car.
It was equipped with a 273 2bbl and console shift automatic.
It was Buffed Silver and Black interior.
I soon save enough $$$$ to go to J.C. Penny and order the 13" Fenton wheels you see on the car. I still have those wheels today.
Well, Needless to say the car was great fun and attracted a lot of girls... BUT, it sure lacked any kind of get up and go.
So, I ended up special ordered the car I still have today. Added Current Photos When my Dart was Brand New
