My first A body-73 duster

-
j4r3d, not rude to ask at all.
I actually paid nothing for this car. What I did is donated my time and one of my employees time to an elderly couple who needed a days worth of work. Every now and then I donate a little time to elders who need some help.
This time, something came out of it. I ended up with a duster.
So, somewhere around 600 for the car when all is said and done.
Still don't have a title so I am going down this road again. Good price but
I have to do a little for the paper.

Otherwise, I hadn't thought of the angle of the piston on a /6. Seems the penetrating fluid would do the trick for that. I usually use PB for everything.
Amazing stuff. Never thought to use it for lubing the pistons. Thanks.

Here is a shot of the trunk.
Beautiful trunk really. Only light scaling in the grooves.
No holes anywhere. All the cardboard is still in place.
The only thing that was messed up was the carpet on the floor.
Spare tire and bumper lift included.

For some reason I can't get an upload that is larger than this thumbnail.
All the rest worked fine with the system I have now.
Suddenly it won't let me upload larger pictures.

I changed the oil, brake fluid, radiator fluid, power steering fluid.
Changed wires, cap and rotor, oil filter, air filter.
Re hooked up the old original coil as it had better resistence.
Someone had hooked up a new coil, backwards, and just hung it off the wires.
Changed starter, it was broken pretty bad.
Fixed starter wire ends, they were pretty corroded and twisted up.
Checked float bowl. Clean as a whistle.
Replaced the only rubber gas line.
replaced the belts.
Had a new key made for the ignition and doors.

After all that, I sprayed some ether down the carb and gave the ignition a turn, She cranked, not only cranked but fired a few times.
Next chance I get, I buy some gas and make a temporary gas can so I can run it.

Then I have to drop the gas tank and clean it out as well as the long fuel line from the rear to the front.
Once the fuel is fully reconnected, all I have left really for a beater is finding some tires and replacing the windows.

Oh, and I also beat out some of the dents that I could reach.
Just trying to get them smooth enough to buff the old paint out.
Grandma seemed to Tap alot of little things.

There is a rabbits nest on the engine.
More than likely it's a wharf rat's nest. Those things can make a mess under a hood of a car. Not to mention chew on wires too. These things can get as big as a large cat. I shot one a few years ago that had gotten in my shop. The SOB knocked my grease gun on the floor. I heard hit the floor that's how I knew something was in there. I'd been pissed if he got in my Duster.

Nice looking Duster BTW. What is with the all of the Space saver Dusters. I've never seen one in my area. I seen a Hang 10 Dart with the fold down seat but not one Duster.
