i would guess that the bolt spacing and/or the critical dimensions are different.

they list that the crossmember #BHS532 works with it, and they list the crossmember #BHS572 for a-body specifically.

ETA: i found they make an A body loop #BHS578

This one is for a 73 to 76 A body. Is there a difference in the 67 to 69 and the 73 to 76 A body crossmembers? Also the A body one does not say it will fit the 8 speed trans. hmm.

The hoop fits my usct A-516 crossmember perfect. It does not clear the A-500 where it needs to. I'm going to grind the welds off the hoop and open the hoop up 5/8" each side then reweld the hoops. After fitting things together a few min ago this is the path I'm taking. It looks to be an easy mod. I will post pics when it's done.

Fyi I bought the 73 to 76 A body hoop.
