Grew up in Waterbury, the arm pit of the state, right down the street from Naugatuck.
I left in 1973, and don't remember Naugatuck having much of a downtown. lol

I lived in Torrington. Was an Air Force recruiting district manager. Had most of the state including Waterbury. Yeah, 2000-2003 Waterbury wasn't that nice then either. My office was in Watertown. Now that was nice...and expensive!!!
Drove through Naugatuck all the time. Don't remember much but it seemed nice.
