97 Ram 1/2 2wd 5 speed.
Engine gave up after 208K.
I bought another engine locally, after pressure washing, it turns out to be 5.9 / 360 engine.
360 is externally balanced, so now I need a 360 weighted flywheel, which was not available (5.9 - 5 speed in 1/2 ton), so I have to find a flywheel from a 2500 with 5.9 gas (most were diesel)
I can't find this flywheel cheap.
I am willing to shelve the 360 and buy another 318 or trade this 360 for a 318. The 360 shows hints of rebuild, with numbered rod ends, new crank shaft seal, and silicone along the water pump housing. Underside of valve covers were spotless! I am going to pull intake tonight to see how it looks, and pop a rod cap and main cap off to see bearings.
Anyone in the MW area ( I am in Kansas City ) with a Magnum 318 lying around?
