I need a bone stock 318 engine for my 69 Barracuda. My existing 318 is tired and has always had a balance problem so it's time for another. Even a short block is ok. I can pick up if you're near Sacramento, Ca. Send me a pm, let me know what you have.

That sounds like it may work. I do have new heads, it's just the rotating parts that aren't balanced. What year is the motor?

jim , not sure of the year , its stock type rebuilt lower end , no bal marks on it , but that would just help its smooth operation . and for heads got three pairs , two pairs off running motors , one pair of 318 la's , two pairs of 360 la's . 318 are complete and dirty , one pair of 360 cleaned with no springs ,freashened up @ 1000 ago , one pair 360 never run , but bolted on , those are spoken for along with a edy prform'r alum intake and on hold until sunday dead line to pick up for the guy if not there back on the market . can't figger out how to post pics , maybe thru personal emails , all this stuff is at my shop here in san jose , could post more pics on my c.l ad under sfba , dodge plymouth chrysler 360 la motor parts # 5436635900 . well ? you just let me know .

Got a complete 2bbl 318 out of a 1969 barracuda - motor turns freely. I never had it running, stripped the car for parts. 200$ bucks???

I have 2 318's sitting around. One is a '74, it was running but would definitely need a rebuild. That one's just a core really, but I'd let it go for $50 too.

The other is a '88, I bought it used with 85k miles on it and ran it in my Duster for a bit. The compression numbers were decent, as seen here

1- 165 psi
2- 165
3- 160
4- 165
5- 165
6- 160
7- 170
8- 150

#8 had a stuck valve from sitting when I bought the engine. I freed it up, but a leak down showed the valves were the source of the slightly lower compression there. It has 302 heads, but they need a valve job and new seals. The engine was smoking a bit when I was driving it, but again, that was the valve seals/guides. I put a new timing chain and balancer on the engine before I installed it. With a mild cam and a set of magnum heads it would probably be a pretty good little engine.

I'd like to keep the 302's, so I could sell the engine without them for pretty cheap. I don't need it, and I know it's not perfect. I'm in Sacramento, so it would be an easy pick up for you. I have a hoist so I could just drop it into whatever you've got to haul it. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.
