I'm swapping an 8.75 into my '68 notchback and the perches on it are already set for inboard springs. My car is not set up for that and I don't have subframe connectors either.
Should I just go ahead and cut the frame and install new spring boxes or would I be better off just welding new perches back in the original spot on the axle?
The only set of tires I have right now are 295s and I think they're too wide regardless of where I put the springs. I'd like to upgrade to a larger wheel anyway, so I can pick a tire size that will work with whatever I decide.
I like the idea of a fat tire in the back, but I can't see myself ever tubbing the car, so I didn't know if doing the 3" inboard would be worth it.
