Well I went to NAPA and looked for paint for my 66 /170 engine
I need the factory red color, so is the chry red what I want ?
They did not have it in stock. So I had then order me chrysler red.
did I do the right thing ? Thank you :-D

Hey, it ain't your fault that NAPA is going to the dogs. They don't carry Caterpillar yellow either. You got the right color for stock '66.

Are you still thinking of powder coat on the valve cover or should I get started reconditioning on the last one I had picked out? (I still have enough left over paints to redo this valve cover for you if you want me to.)
Are they going to have powdercoat that matches chrysler industrial red?
Just wondering!:happy10:

We ended up getting the chrysler industrial red for ABodyBetty's "BOF"!
Good Luck & I also recommend using the engine paint primer before laying color!!8)

I talked to Billy at PHOENIX SPECIALTY COATINGS last night " myHolley guru"
Leanna was spraying parts 8) I am going to use my valve cover and dolly the dent out of it and Have it wrinkled black like the 273 valve covers, It will do a good job on filling small pit's and look perfect after it's dun
I will talk to leanna today after 10 am. 8)
I have seen them painted and powdered chrome But these 66 modle valve covers are getting old and hard to find in good shape
Thank you for your time looking for one 64dart170 and after the engine is prepped I will use a engine paint primer before painting thank you.
I think the wrinkled black like the 273 valve covers will look good undr the hood with my other parts :happy10:

Hey Mike, sorry I missed your call last night ... working on a rush for a major tool manufacturer and it had to be finished, wrapped and boxed by 10:00 this morning (woooo ahead of the game lol).

I'll look forward to talking with you whenever you're ready! FYI, I have lots of the black wrinkle in stock and will try and get your valve cover restored to its factory glory. Victoria deserves the best and so do you! :-D

So Mike did you call your south Arkansas buddy?
I have more than 1 66 valve cover in good shape.
Frank
I sure didn't bud  I desided to save some postage and shipping cost and just send mine and have Leanna do a good wrinkle finish on mine, So International red is very close to being the correct color??
It's been humid and raining so I have plenty of time to prep for paint. My hands are not ready for prepping for paint yet anyway :angry7:
