Hi, You guys know lots about Big blocks and A bodies so what converter and carb for the following build would you recommend. Purpose weekend car only 70/30 street/strip.
What converter and carb would drive the best but also give decent power?

Block: 452 RB
Heads: Stealth
Pistons: 2355f Speed Pro Forged Zero Deck
Connecting Rods: 440 Source Forged Steel 7/16" Bolts
Cam: Xe 274h Comp
Dur @ .050" Lift: Int 230 Exh 236
Valve Lift: Int 0.488 Exh 0.491
LCA: 110
Intake Centerline: 106
Rpm Range: 1800 To 6000

= Static Compression Ratio 9.634
= Dynamic Effective Compression Ratio 8.149

Manifold: Holley Street Dominator Single Plane
Exhaust: 2 Inch Primary 3.5 Inch Collectors
Differential gears: 3.89
Transmission: 727
Car Weight: A Body 3550 Lbs

750 dp, with a 1" 4-hole spacer if you have the room. Oh remove the choke plate and rod for about 25 extra cfm's..

Holley 950hp, 1" spacer. A 750hp would give a bunch of upper end power.

good 3500 converter

I wouldn't get caught up in the advertised CFM rating, the 950hp has great throttle response compared to a std DP carb with a smaller rating.

850 DP'r, 3200-3500 stall 9 1/2" converter and instead of the single plane go with a RPM Performer, better bottom end and pretty close to being even on the top end and 1" 4 hole.

Hi guys thanks for the replies much appreciated, I have decide to go with the Model Holley 0-82751 4150 HP, 750 cfm $489.95 from summit with 4 hole 1" spacer and the

Turbo Action 17805S - Turbo Action Street S-800 Series Torque Converters
3,500 Stall $444.95 from summit

While researching convertors i read :read2: for a 3 speed auto you need your stall to be at your max tq and others have said to be within 500 rpms of your max tq.

Using cam quest :-\" for my combo it says with open headers my max tq will be 3500 and with exhaust up for the street it will be 4000 so I guess the carb and converter will be a very good match.

Thanks again for your experience much appreciated.

Quickfuel 850 on the carb...3800 stall on the converter, give Lenny at Ultimate converter a call he'll hook you up and your car WILL hook up too..

I run this carb.... best carb I have ever owned!!

Turbo Action 17805S - Turbo Action Street S-800 Series Torque Converters
3,500 Stall $444.95 from summit

Don't do it.... talk to Dynamic Converters or Lenny at Ultimate converter. These converters beat a off the shelf because they are custom made for your car. They might might suggest a higher stall but don't be shocked... they know what their doing. You will pay more but it's a better converter. You spend all that money on engine, trans, rearend don't skimp on the converter. LOL

At least call them and talk to them.

850 DP, 3500 stall 10 inch converter. Perfect street/strip combo that will get your attention.

Ok ok you guys are killing me, my bank manager loves you guys
I talked to Lenny, well email cause I live in Australia and he is going to hook me up with a very good converter after his holidays =P~

The carb I changed my mind to a Quick fuel Q850 Annular, both carb and converter is similar in price :banghead:

But hey its all ok 8) the Australian dollar is good now. Im hoping the combo will be a goer :happy11: Thanks again for the advice I only wanted to buy this stuff once.
