I have a 1964 fury 4 door hard top, the car has the original 426 In it and when we got it from the original owner he gave us paper work build sheet and papers that its the car Chrysler took to the auto show. He said he ordered the car and had to wait 2 months because the car was in the Detroit autoshow. I need some help here on decoding this thing the VIN reads-33441280901. The motor pad says v 42 6 18 hp which I guess is v=1964 42=426 hp=high performance idk what 6 and 18 is. The fender tag looks like
1234567890
16 137
abcdefghjklmnpqrstuvwxyz
145 1 5 381
so number bdy trm pnj
0714 0382 334 h4q ww b

Here is my best shot at it. I am not fluent with pre-67. It never seems to line up properly the way you did this. A picture is the best way. Or number them as such.

VIN 3341280901 =
3 = Plymouth v8
3 = Fury
4 = 1964
1 = Lynch Road plant
28,090th car scheduled for production at that plant

1-1 = 611 undercoating and hood pad, or 411 two front seat belts color keyed.
2-6 ? 326 rear seat belt delete
5-1 = 351 Power steering
6-3 =
7-7 = ? 477 retractable seat belts

AB-14 = 426 commando (wedge) dual exhaust, special block, crankshaft, pistons, police camshaft, chrome plated valve covers and oil filler cap, Hyd cam.
C-5 = 345 torqueflite automatic
G-1 = 431 all windows tinted
J-5 = 415 Padded dash Pad
N-3 = 423 Back Up Lights
P-8 = 428 dual jet windshield washers or Front Console
Q-1 = 361 Transaudio AM radio w/antenna

so number 07/14 = July 14, 1964 (body assembly date)
0382 = order number
body = 334 = see above vin decode.

T - H = High Trim Grade
R - 4 = Bucket seats
M - Q = Turquoise interior color

PA - W = White upper and lower body colors
I
N
T - B = Black upper door frame color

engine
v = 1964
42(6) is prolly a light stamping
HP is High Performance
6-18 is the engine assembly date. 1 month prior to car assy date and in reason that it is original to car.

BTW welcome aboard!

You can order your build card from Chrysler Historical. The cost is 45 with basic decoding, not complete but very nice to have. Have you looked for the Broadcast sheet under the seats, etc? and post a picture of the Fender tag. if you have the BC sheet post that also for a better decoding and understanding of the early formatting for me.
