I am working on a Ditch Witch trencher and I need to regulate the fuel pressure down.

It has a gas 4 cylinder Wisconsin engine on it and the previous owner installed a electric fuel pump in place of the mechanical one. I need a pressure regulator that is nothing fancy so does anyone have an idea what I should be looking for?

Fuel pressure regulators of the type you have in mind tend to cause more problems than they solve. You'd be far better off installing a fuel pump (whether electric or mechanical) with output pressure and volume characteristics properly matched to the specifications and needs of the rest of the fuel system.

It might be cheaper to just replace the electric pump with a cheap universal low pressure pump. You can find them at autozone/NAPA and the sorts. What psi do you need to regulate to?

That is the problem, I have no idea. That is why I was trying to figure out what my options are. Right now I have the valve on the fuel bowl almost closed and it is running decent.
