I am rebuilding the stock 318 carter carb. I have rebuilt and/or cleaned smaller carbs a bunch of times but, this is my first automotive carb. Ive cleaned every passageway and the entire carb but when i took the two adjuster screws out i forgot to count how many turns they were out :banghead: could anyone tell me how many turns "should" get me in the ballpark? thanks.

It seems like mine was pretty happy around two turns out. That'll get you close enough to fine-tune with a vacuum gauge.

Doktor is correct. Lightly bottom the idle mixture screws out and then back them out 1 3/4 to 2 turns. That will get you in the ball park. Let the engine warm up and then adjust for the best idle.

what should my float be set at? i set it the way the directions in the rebuild kit said to and its spewing fuel out of it.
