I'm finishing up my '70 Swinger and I want to attach the chrome trim on the front of each fender extension that surrounds the grille. I have Part numbers: 3574118 and 3574119 which I have verified are the correct pieces needed. The problem is that when I hold them up to test fit them on the fender, the two attaching holes on the trim about an inch and a half deep have no where to attach. The holes on the fender about another inch in away from them don't even line up with the holes on the moulding so I can't make a spacer. I looked at the original chassis manual and it shows them bolting right up, but on my car, they don't come close to attaching properly.
Am I doing something wrong (it wouldn't surprise me)? Thanks for any input.
