Need Help With Installing Trim on a 65 Barracuda

Could someone tell me how the went about sealing the holes when mounting the rear quarter panel trim? How was in done at the factory?

I have seen something that looks like tar on the nut that I had to remove with a regular screw driver, so the socket could fit to remove it. yes factory installed

Strip caulk.

I love it and this is something I will be doing soon.

Valkman for further detail there was "caulk" pushed around each of the christmas tree's right where they exit the mounting plate. I would take a small dab of this stuff and work it into a cone tapered down.

Furthermore in the trunk area right where the tail light housing meets the floor there was some more of this stuff. I recommend replacing it. On my car it just fell off. May not be a bad idea to use around the antenna inlet either.
