If I give it too much throttle it seems to bog out, but when I'm driving at 60mph and give it more throttle the reaction time is slow. What can I do?

Timing first, then adjust carb.... Adjust accelerator pump for more or less squirt.. I would try more squirt first...

Don't know squat about timing on the slant six engine but get a light on that thing and see where you are.
