I havent decided to do this, I am just toying with the idea.

I have a 64 dart 170 with a 3 on the three, I do think that the push-button auto is just one of the coolest things ever.

What changes are necessary to make the swap?
What year trannys will work?
Do I have to change the drive shaft? crossmember?

If ANYONE can give me the info to make a well informed decision I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

well i'd say that the "stick in the spoke" will be the push button tranny. you'll need to find an old 6 cylinder trans still in a push button a-body some where to get all the parts and pieces. if it wasn't for that the swap would be fairly easy to acomplish or has hard as you want it. 6 cylinder 904, kickdown linkage, cooler lines and radiator plus afermarket floor shifter, done deal.

I would think as long as you got everything form a 64 or older would work. As that was the last year for the push buttons. They would have to come from a abody. I think the drive line and cross memeber would be the same as I switched from an auto to a 4 speed in my 66 Dart and used the the cross memeber and drive line. And you would have to cut your dash to put in the push buttons.
