I am swapping a 4 speed manual to a 727 floor shift auto. I need some pics of a floor shift auto trans tunnel so I know what I need to do to mine. I was told to get some sheet metal and hand bend in into place then tack weld it in. I am putting a floor console in so I need it to look the way it is meant for the console to work.

This is what I have now.

Take a look about half way down this thread http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=60607&highlight=console

There are some pics showing the console bracket measurements and you can see the linkage hole in one of them - looks to be about 2 1/2". In column automatics the spot to cut the hole is stamped in. You can make your own easy enough, but a cut-out from a parts car might be a consideration too.

Your best bet is to get a floor section from an auto car.

It's not a mirror image of the pass side.

Here is a pic of an A body automatic column shift floorDSC02024.jpg
