I have a 77eng with 40 thousand on it which will go in my Duster. I want to stay with stock converter and running 26 inch tires and 323 gears. This will have to stay low compression eng. The problem is the cam choice. I am looking at Summit cam with 204/224 duration with 420/442 lift. Do you guys think this would run ok? Going to run duel plane manifold with a 650 carb also.

Would 218/228 with 441/441 lift cam work as well?

The 218/224 cam is really on the very limit for a stock low compression 360. You'd be better off with the 204/224 or a Lunati 60401 at 213/220. I would not go any larger than the aforementioned Lunati.

The CompCams XE250H or the XE256H @ 206/212 or 212/218 respectively, would be a better choice due to it's tighter LCA (110 vs. 112). This will boost your cylinder pressure a bit.

While I agree with Ramcharger, the bigger cam
(Actualy a Crane but same duration @ .050 spec, more lift, see thread; http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=10508 )
I run in my stock low comp. 318/904/3.21 stock tire height '74 Duster that run with a basic in driveway tune up and to the track it went with a reported time of 15.14 @ 89 mph.

The larger cam will do OK and run well with the stock converter. I myself would run it. A boost in the ratio would be great. That's a head milling away.

crane makes the cams for summit

Yep! Knew that. Used to be a great thing.

S&S Cylce purchased the motorcycle cam line for themselfs, I don't know about the automotive side of things though.
