A friend just picked this car up and asked me to decode it . Well I am not very good with the early tags.
Its a 64 Polara 2door and appears to be an original white with black interior. But that all I can figure out… and that may be wrong ..lol

fwiw here is what I can come up with:

Pre 65 body tag digits are mapped to different sales codes depending on the assembly plant.

There should be two digits prior to the 4 on the vin tag, the 4 (digit 3) is 64, the 2 (4th digit) is assembly plant = Hamtramck, then the last 6 are the sequence number. Can't see the first 2 from the vin tag picture.

body: 642 = Polara 500 2 door hardtp 8cyl
trim: P = Premium buckets, 4 = vinyl (seat material), X = black
paint: can only make out the first digit from the pic, 1st digit is roof color W=white, 2nd digit is body color, and 3rd digit is 1 for mono (all one color) and 2 is for two tone

Body tag translates to sales codes as follows:
A of 5 = 345 = torqueflite
F of 1 = 361 = radio-am music master/economy
H of 5 = 385 = heater-front with defroster
QR of 05 = 505 = 383 1-2BBL 305hp 10.1:1c/r
M of 3, N of 8, P of 2 = ? no mapping in the book I have
T of 4 = 574 = battery 70-amp
W of 2 = 652 = Sold Car / Expedite (whatever that means - maybe just customer ordered?)

Now of course you need to post pictures of the car for us - lol
