I have a 73 318 with power steering and a/c. Im looking at going from power to manual steering but im not sure what i need to get my belts to work. Currently 2 belts run from the crank to the a/c and alt. then 1 belt goes from the crank to the waterpump to the PS pump. here is a crude drawing.

The PS pump is the tensioner so if thats gone i have no tensioner.

couldn't you just remove the power steering pump and the belt, then you would still have the crank driving the water pump, alternator and a/c unit, and then the alternator would be the tensioner. ...??

On a '69 340 with manual steering and AC there were two belts: one for water pump and alt and a separate single belt for the AC.
