That should read 1972 on the title my bad.. So somehow my account and posts got deleted. I have a new to me 2 weeks ago, 1972 rolling chasis with some nice upgrades. I hadn't posted any detailed pictures before my account dissappeared so here goes. As I mentioned in my earlier post I am building this car is a tribute of my recently passed father who was a mopar guy from childhood. He had a 1972 duster when it was new and we had always planned to build one. Whe. This rolling chassis came up I knew I wanted it to rebuild with my sons who are old enough to help now 11 and 9. My last restoration was a 1958 austin healey which I completed long before they were born. So I have a 360 out of an old 1984 d300 van that dad used as a tool van (he was a residential house builder) up until about 2004 when he replaced it with a 2004 dodge van. He saved this van specifically for this reason to put the drivetrain in a duster. It had 88k on it and always had regular service. I am considering making the 360 into a 408 but may leave it a 360 if my local mopar engine guru thinks the crank and cylinders don't need too much work to smooth up. I have the 727 out if the van but will likely use an a833 id as I like to shift my own gears. Anyhow I am excited to continue learning from thise of you have been through these cars many times over.

Cool build! I like it! (Again)
Yeah I have it off the trailer again in my dad's workshop. I moved his tractor to my building because I want to do this resto in his shop. my uncle and my boys helped me strip the engine down earlier in the week here are some pics

So I just got done with pulling the old worn carpet and found good solid floors throughout. One bit of disappointment was the wiring harness. It was an ez mini 20 fuse setup that was poorly executed and just a mess wires labeled one way and going to a completely different function. Also the biggest problem all the engine and front light looms arefed through the hole where the clutch system would be. I plan to use an a833od so all this had to come out. Looking at one of the American auto wire harnesses which looks top notch. I see one for sale in the classifieds here now

The 408 from the 360 costs purt near the same as a stock stroke 360, so I would go 408. Nice lookin car!

So I got the car up on jackstands and found the 8.8 ford rears tag it is a 4.10 limited slip. Going to have to thing about transmission choice a little more now. The restoration guy I bought it from said he thought his client said it was a 3.73. I really wanted to go with an a833 od unit as the t56 seems a bit hard to do with all the cutting required and I can't seem tonfind any good info on how much cutting a tkx might require.

My tire size is 2.75/40r17 so diameter of around around 25ish. By my calculations that would be 2770 rims at 70mph. But I bet the thing would sure blast off the line.

Pleasant surprise tonight. I was taking the fuel tank down tonight to get at the rear axle to try to figure out which explorer parts I need for the ebrake on the 8.8 rear end. I thought the gas tank looked rather new and the AN lines running to the front of the car made me suspect that I had a fuel injection pump in tank unit sure enough I do. I was wanting to run a holley or edelbrock efi so one less part I will have to buy later!

He is really pleased with the amd panels. Should be ready to start on the quarter next week. He has test fit them and said aside from the door gap at the top everything seems to line up very well. Didn't know how extensive this project was going to turn out once I got so far into it decided better do it all right the firat go around. Over the kast year while I was collecting sheetmetal got a lot of other stuff done such as full wiring harness rebuild and the engine

Out of town presently but body man sent me a bunch of pics of the progress. Hopefully completely done this week. New drivers rocker, both side b posts, driver outer wheel house, trunknfloor with both extension, and tail panel

Good progress
Yes a long time coming but the man who has been doing the work was worth the wait. When he showed me the willies jeepster he essentially rebuilt everything from the cowl back on I knew he was the one to do the work for me. Hopefully get it back in my shop this coming weekend and start sanding the edp coat on the new panels and get some epoxy laid down.
