New Dart Hood scoops, Functional or not?

I'll be putting my scoops on the Dart this week. I wanted to get some suggestions on if I should drill the 4 inch hole for the air flow or just install the scoops for looks only. I'd like to have to holes for extra air flow into the engine bay but I'm worried about water from rain, dirt, etc. I haven't seen if there is any type of filter set up for the holes. If anyone knows, tell me where to get them. For now I'm just installing them for looks.

They have rubber things that go in the holes but I have never ran them. Dive in the rain all the time with no trouble.

Drill the holes and make them functional. The cooler air coming in, plus the hot air going out, will make it worth it.
Drive the ford in the rain...joke.

Also just got the Dart back today after having a 727 rebuild and put in. Shift great now! Now to put on the new steering column, steering wheel, hood scoops and shifter!!!

I'd say, drill the holes in the hood unless you're never going to let anyone see the car with the hood open.

Even on an old Mopar, hood scoops with no holes under them are 'rice'
