The good Lord opened a door for me at TX State University. It had to be with his help, I put the wrong job title on the cover letter, had unsupported job history concerning prior experience, forgot to put my most recent job on the app. couldn't answer 5 of the 20 pre interview tech questions, couldn't answer several of the questions during the interview about all the above and still got the job!!!! They also started me at the top of the pay range. The lady on the phone said it would take 4 hrs to explain all the benefits, I said what are benefits? Haven't had those in over 25 yrs's Start Mon the 2nd

All right another public servant... be prepared to have to much time on your hands... Vacation, Sick leave, Comp. time, Retirement. Way to go...NOW imagine what would of happened if you had applied for the job you thought you were!

Have a sip of Kona Coffee on me!

Aloha,Mike

Thanks Mike This opens many doors I am A+ certified for computers and network admin but don't have experience. I will volunteer in the computer dept to get some experience then apply for a network admin position.

Congrats, Funny how the Lord works huh. Im looking to move to Texas as well, and am having a hard time finding a job so congrats on your score. Ps i got a buddy that lives in San Marcos, but he's a Ford guy. lol

When you get here we will convert him. I can hear him now "I'm a recovering Furrd guy"

Congrats, it's great to hear stuff like this. I'm sure it's a relief for you.

Ive tried, But he does have a SWEET 64 1/2 Mustang he got before he was 16 (39 now i think) from a old lady for $1500.00. It is nice, even though it is a Ford

Is that what I'm doing wrong when I apply for jobs? I fill everything out correctly and have 15 years experience as a network admin and am also A+ certified.

Maybe I should start filling things out incorrectly. Damn.

Hey Idaho aka damnimcooltom..Grew up in Boise...spent a summer in Coeur d'Alene as a ute...nice nice nice!

Any of you guys looking to move to Texas...there is now a hiring frenzy in Southeast Texas, mainly Beaumont/Port Arthur, due to huge petrochemical plant expansions. They are presently looking for all types of construction/heavy eq. ops./welders, etc. I have been hearing about the need for 15,000 to 20,000 workers. The finished plants and ancillary plant service companies will be looking for permanent local positions.

P.S. Good luck in your career. Wait, there is no such thing as luck. May God be with you.

Congratulations Bruce!! =D> Life can be great some times.[-o<
