I just purchased a new set of leaf springs for a 74 Dart Sport. I noticed the sides of the front eye bushings will not be right up against the sides of the front hanger. In other words there will be a little play in between. I have not installed them yet. Should I just tighten it up & hope it closes the gap or should I use a couple of washers in between?
The springs are correct as I compared them too my old ones. If anyone knows where I can look at some good close up pictures or if you have any you could post of the front hanger with the leaf springs attached it would help me too compare mine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank.

The front eye hangers can be bolted tightly without space, but a tiny gap is OK. It's actually what I do. Remember, the spring will move a bit and if the metal of the spring is rubbing up and down on the hanger, it will create a noise. Minor wear will happen. So very close is good, snug up and tight is a tad far and is not needed.
