Hello friends of Body A's, my name is Francisco and I live in Argentina.
In our collection, we have two Body A's: my dad's 1962 Valiant V200 and my 1974 Dodge Polara RT.

The Dodge Polara RT is an Argentina-exclusive Body A Coupe equipped with a high-performance 225 Slant Six developed in Argentina and producing 174 HP and 333 Nm of torque. I'm sharing a couple of photos of my car when we bought it and now that it's being restored:

Welcome to the site!! Pretty cool...a classic car riding on a classic car hauler. Well, that Chevy truck would be a classic here in the states.....

Welcome from WI. What a very cool car. Please keep sharing pics and progress

I LOVE those cars.

What's the deal with the bar on the back bumper?

Thank you very much. Regarding the Slant details: As I mentioned at the beginning, the Polara RT comes equipped with the high-performance 225 Slant Six, commonly known as the Slant RT.

This Slant retains the standard internal characteristics of the 225, both bore and stroke. The biggest difference is the intake and exhaust manifolds, the carburetor, and most importantly, the cam. The RT cam is exclusive to this model and to Argentina (from what I understand, the RT cam has a 273° duration, but I'm not sure). The carburetor is a Holley 2300 with a 40 mm bore diameter.
This engine produced 174 hp at 4,500 rpm and 333 Nm or 246 lb-ft at 2,400 rpm. Coupled with a 4-speed gearbox and a 3.07 final drive differential, the Polara RT reached top speeds of over 180 km/h (112 mph) and could travel at speeds of 130/140 km/h (80/87 mph) at just 3,500 rpm.

As for my particular engine, the manifolds had been replaced due to fuel economy, but the engine itself is quite healthy and still had enough power to burn wheel easily. We were recently lucky enough to find another original RT engine with all the missing parts: I'm sharing photos of both Slants.

Thank you very much, friends, for the welcome. I'll keep you updated on the project. We'll paint it in the next few days. The idea is to leave it just as it left the Chrysler Argentina factory in 1974.

I’ve always liked the body style of those.. a car I wished they made here in the states but… what would we’ve called it? lol the Dodge…..

On the front bumper also - special, oversized bumper guards?

These were common bumpers in the 60s and 70s, because it was common during those decades to still find older cars on the road, especially in small towns like the one where my car was from. These bumpers ensured that they didn't touch the front or trunk of newer cars.

I've never seen a sway bar on a bumper before...Some of the Mopars from Central and South America were very cool and unique. I have seen photos of several different models over the years but never a R/T Polara. Thanks for joining and the pictures of your car.
