New oil pump question

My new oil pump that I installed on my 318 yesterday came with a little thin 'paper' gasket. I just happened to come across something on the web saying that no gasket is needed.. should I keep the gasket on there that I installed? finishing the assembly of my 318 today. As of now, it wouldn't be a big deal to drop the pump again. no oil pan on there yet

I have never used a gasket. Never had any problems. All the small blocks I took a part in the 70's never had one either.

Yes use the gasket.
