New one at hobby lobby

Yup, born in 1959 so I remember those prices as well. Going through some of my older stuff and found a bottle of testers paint at .25 cents from TG&Y. Lol
TG&Y! I haven't thought about them in years! There was one a block or so from my grandparents house, used to patronize it and the Safeway, in the same little mall. The little mall is still there, but both stores are looong gone. The TG&Y is now some sort of dollar store.

I never knew of a Kresge in socal, but of course there were K-marts everywhere. I never knew that's where they came from.
There were a bunch of low-rent discount houses in socal when I grew up. White Front. Gemco, Doughboys, K-mart, and a few others long passed from memory. Heck, Sears was the gold standard that put the others out of business. And now look.........

Sometimes it seems that "what goes around comes around". I remember back in the 50's, 6o's and somewhat into the 70's that we ordered several things from a catalog...Sears, JC Penny, Aldens, and of course our old friend JC Whitney. And now we are again buying stuff that we can't touch, smell, or feel. The "catalog" is now a computer.

Yea i always checked the classifieds
Or jc Whitney for my wish list
Looking threw hemmings....
Now its fb and fabo for that deal

Ours was next to a piggly wiggly. Lol

Hot Wheels and Matchbox are about 1.20-1.30. Premium diecast are a little more. I have few.
