new side mirror glass is very loose

I just mounted the mirror and noticed that the glass is extremely loose. Unfortunately I bought it 2 years ago. Anybody fix this issue?

Is this a manual mirror or the remote mirror?
If it's the cable remote type, the mirror needs to be installed- the curvature in the cables when the mirror and the toggle are both installed takes up the slack and the glass becomes tight. Sounds odd, but that's how they work.
