New starter installation

Hello guys

I have a new remanufactured starter to install on my slant six.
Is it recommended to slightly lubricate the pinion gear or should I have to simply install the starter "as is", directly out of the box?

Install dry unless you have a sealed housing environment where NO dirt cam get in, any lube will attract dirt.
