Hey guys, you're probably wondering why my name is "Demau". Well, when my dad was younger he got for his first car an orange with black vinyl top 1971 Dodge demon Slant Six. His nickname for it was The "Demau". My current plan because demons are rare everywhere and even more in Maryland. That i am going to make a dodge demon clone using a plymouth duster and either a parts car demon or dart. I know the main differences are the front clip and the tail lights. But when I go to a junkyard, how do you remove the front clip and what parts in what order. It would be sweet if someone that's made a clone could go into detail about the process of doing it all.

There are actually a couple of threads on here about how to clone a Duster over to a Demon. The search function is your friend.

But basically, you're right. The front clip is just the fenders, hood, hood latch panel, splash apron, grill and bumpers. The frames on all of the '67-76 A-bodies are the same from the firewall forward, so there's no cutting involved on the front, just remove the body panels.

The tail panels can be purchased new now and spot welded in just like factory. If you get a later Duster though ('73-76) there are some modifications that have to be made because of some changes to the floor and quarters because of the shock mounted rear bumper. Not a big deal, but everything doesn't line up out of the box.

Here are a few of the more relevant threads, although there are definitely more.

When you start your project, please make a build thread here so we can all follow your progress. :thumleft:
