News and politics not working?

I haven't been on the new forum much but I'm having trouble getting into the news and politics forum. When I click on the section it opens up as only the threads I have started. Anyone know what's going on?

Click on your username up by where you log in from. Select preferences, and then check the box to get into the Political Forum.

Mine just says (private) and shows no threads. I have already selected the preferences. What now????

same thing is happening to me and I tried clicking the "join" under preferences...still nothing
