Has anyone out there used these tires. If so what is the actual tread width? After mini tubing my car, I now have 14" of room to fill. Tryied a set of M/T sportmans. 29x12.5 by 15. With these tires the tread is only 10 inches. Which is ok, but would like to know what's out there for a 15 inch rim, with 28 to 29" tall tire. Thanks

no help, but-------------------------------
are these tires actually 29" tall? how wide is the carcass ? did they hook up ?

So you want the same section width with more tread width.

Well let me say this to you. The Sportsman pro's are a whole lot of tire. I wouldn't be concerned with them hooking up. To be honest it's probably way more tire than you really need.

The biggest mistake in regards to tread width most guys make is running too narrow of a rim with too wide of a tire.

on a 10'' rim the tread width is 12.5'' on a 325 50 15 nitto . I just measured mine .

Ideally you want the width of the rim equal to or wider than the tread width.

Nitto 555R's are an awesome street tire. The work as good as any wide tire in the rain, hook-up very well once the are a bit warm either from ambient temperature or a bit of spinning, and have a 186mph speed rating. It's the only 15" tire out there with that high of a speed rating, and they last for 10 to15k miles if you don't make smoke signals too.

They are not a good cold weather tire, however. If you live where there is snow and freezing for long periods, don't run them during those conditions.

I run mine with enough air to evenly wear off a 1" wide chalk line smeared across the entire tread from one side of the tread to the other. Depending on how much your car weighs, this can be as low as 18 psi.

I actually have a pair for sale that were driven 200 street miles and then taken off if interested?

Mine are 13.1 on a 10" rim. When I went to an 11.25 rim it becomes really tight under there but the tire works very well.

Thanks for all the input. Tire and wheel selection is one of the hardest part of building a nice ride.
