No keys! Help! 1969 Dart

The '68 ignition switch is actually unique also. It's the way it locks into the dash. Has a slot that year instead of a pin/nub to index it to the dash frame hole.

As far as Classic Industries goes, they seem to be one and the same operations as "OER".

All the same company.

Funny that they would do that
One year only
But the keys are all the same ?
I need a key for my 50 dodge pu
I need to look to see if the master key set my dad left has it

Wouldn't that be nice ....

There are a few key blanks. IIRC 67 was a different key blank than other years.

I recall a TSB about replacing lock cylinders ( might have been trunk only) to a common cylinder that was being used moving forward.

i guess i have look in the few boxes i saved ...might be some blanks too
i remember seeing a ring of what i thought were ford master keys

There was a TSB about replacing trunk cylinders to a common one.
62-65 used one, 66-67 used one, 68 had one then 69.
The TSB had the 69 trunk cylinder with several different rods to fit. Mopar used that cylinder up to 72 and then switched to the "chunky" style trunk cylinder in 73.

If you have the cylinder for the the PU out, bring it to Carlisle if you're going. I might have a key that will fit. If I don't then go to your stash of Ford keys. Mopar used some Hurd Ford key cylinders on tricks in the 50's.

If you have any Mopar ignition/door key-

You can usually get 3 of the 5 pins to work by moving them around.
Sometimes you get lucky and 4 will work.

Better than no pins in the cylinder, which will allow any key of the correct blank to work.

That's what I did before I found some old cylinders to pilfer pins from. It sucks that someone can't just buy a set of pins for these old locks. It would make rekeying them so much easier

I just bought a pin kit from ebay $35.

No, Chryslers are pin diameter specific.

I just looked and there is one gm/ford/Mopar kit for $25 but it is missing most of the Mopar pins.

There were a few others more complete but they started at $75 plus shipping.

What did you search for? Can you share a link? I'm not finding anything.

On the next batch I do, I may just buy some brass rod stock and make my own pins.

My local lock Smith thinks he skills are gold
Will do it myself before going there
Dealer is cheaper......guy wants 300 to program a key ...it cost me 160 for 5 days with vw
