No Spark

[74 Slant Six]

MSD 6a, MSD Blaster Coil bypassed resistor. Car was running fine I went to the store, on the way there it started to hesitate a little almost like a miss fire. Car sat in the parking lot for about 20 minutes while I was in the store. Tried to start and no fire. Plenty of fuel no spark from coil, tried another coil and same story. Motor is brand new slant six been running fine over the last couple of days, started for the first time on 5-28-10. Always started on first crank MSD products are only a couple of months old. Any help would be great!

Most of MSD's stuff is now Chinese-made, and quality and reliability have taken a big dive. Check the wiring and all that usual stuff, but suspect the 6A box.

Thanks Dan you are always helpful. Is there a way to test the 6a unit to see if it has failed?

Swap it out with a different spark box and see if the car goes live. See HEI info.

Last night I rechecked all of the connections everything is correct. Still won't fire, hooked up another MSD 6A box and viola fired right up! So now I will send back the old box to MSD for a spare.
